OwnerMike bought the Fort Collins store in 2005, but got into the computer business long before that. After college he spent 6 years as a Systems Analyst for two big oil companies. He spent most of that time programming, designing databases and applications, and teaching others how to use computers. Early on he bought his first computer, an Apple II-plus – which cost him roughly 2 months salary. Moving to Illinois, he spent 3 years working for a database software company running their helpdesk, and another 3 years doing other IT jobs, including a stint as an independent consultant. Eventually he got hired at Fermi National Accelerator Lab to run their helpdesk, and was there for 15 years. Moving between several IT departments internally, he spent time as Helpdesk Group Leader, Project Manager, Unix Sysadmin, Computer Operations Manager, and Assets and Contracts Manager. Taking over as store owner allowed him to add his many years of customer support and programming experience to their already great service department. Meanwhile, his techs taught him all about Windows-based hardware, although he still considers himself a Mac man. He enjoys hiking and camping, has been a Scout leader for 25 years, and still loves what he does!
Service ManagerOur Service Manager, John, has been with us for over 15 years, and runs an enormously efficient department. Prior to working here, John spent 7 years running his own computer business, primarily installing servers and workstations in banks and other businesses. With over 20 years of hands-on hardware and operating system experience, there are very few problems he hasn’t seen and fixed before. It’s John’s expertise and attention to detail that help ensure that our service department is consistently great. He got his P.C. Repair and A+ certifications in 1996 and 1997, but actually started his computer career with DOS 6.1, and has worked with every Microsoft operating system since then!
Sales ManagerTJ moved to Fort Collins from Indianapolis, Indiana and has been with us for about 6 years. He spent 6 years in the United States Army with 2 deployments to Iraq before obtaining degrees in Computer Information Technology and Computer Network Management. He has also obtained the CompTia A+ and Network+ computer Certifications. He is also our On-Site Technician and will go to your home or place of business to take care of any computer problems you might have. TJ is an avid gamer and loves building computers. For these reasons he quickly became our main Custom Built Computer architect. TJ enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 year old daughter, and playing as much golf as he can!
Office ManagerGreat people skills, terrific math skills, and an understanding of Quickbooks, Carol helps us with the business of running a business. She also helps us from getting too Geeky, and has a great smile!
